Day 1: Nairobi – Masai mara
7.00a.m. Depart from your Nairobi hotel for the Masai Mara Game Reserve stopping at the view-point via the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley and at Narok town for lunch and re-fuelling. Arrive in time for a late afternoon / early evening game drive in the reserve which is famous for its high animal concentration, abundance and variety. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Masai Mara
After breakfast, proceed for a day of tracking game with your guide. All the big five may be seen namely elephants, buffalo and lion; the sighting of rhino and leopard which make the total five in number, very shy and elusive. Break for your leisurely picnic lunch at the hippo pool. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Masai Mara – Nakuru
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast, depart the Mara region for Nakuru, Lunch enroute, with chances to view Mt. Longonot and Lake Naivasha from afar while on the main highway. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Sweetwaters
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, the abode of various water birds that breed in the Lake’s alkaline waters including flamingo, white pelicans and marabou stork. White rhino, Rothschild’s giraffe and plains game are other species encountered while waterbuck and cape buffalo are common on the lake-shore. After breakfast, depart for Sweetwaters, arriving in time for checking formalities and lunch. An afternoon game drive will follow during which you can view plain’s game and also visit the Chimpanzee sanctuary within. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Sweetwaters – Samburu
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast, depart for Samburu Game Reserve via the Thomson Falls arriving in time for lunch. After a leisure break and evening game drive returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Samburu
Full day in this great game reserve in full board. Samburu is north of the equator and contains rare, drought resistant animal species which go for long periods of time without water. These include the reticulated giraffe, grevy’s Zebras, the blue-Shanked Somali ostrich and gerenuk and the beisa oryx. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 7: Samburu – Treehotel
After breakfast, depart for your base hotel for lunch, followed by transfer to your Treehotel where the night is spent and where a procession of forest animals visit the floodlit waterhole and salt lick with wake up calls when any of the big five are sighted. Species commonly seen include buffalo, giant forest hog and elephant.
Day 8: Treehotel – Amboseli
Early morning transfer to the base hotel for breakfast then depart for Amboseli via with lunch enroute. In clear weather, the peak of Mt. Kenya may be seen and you will by-pass very pleasant country side with coffee and tea plantations. Arrive in time for lunch and later a leisure break, an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 9: Amboseli
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast a further game drive. Elephants and hippos can be seen battling in the Swamp grounds while if the weather permits you may view the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. After lunch, a brief siesta followed by an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 10: Amboseli – Nairobi
After breakfast, proceed on a morning game drive. Early lunch at the lodge then depart Amboseli for Nairobi, arriving in the evening.
